Description
Dieses Selbstporträt entstand 1929, in dem Jahr, als Jettmar als legitimer Nachfolger von Ferdinand Schmutzer die Leitung der Meisterschule für graphische Künste in Wien übertragen wurde – ein Höhepunkt seiner künstlerischen Karriere. Zu dieser Zeit war der schon Sechzigjährige von seiner Frau Irma Mayer (siehe Porträt, Los 401) getrennt und mit der Pianistin Marzelline Kudlic liiert. Die Ehe zerbrach an seinem jähzornigen Verhalten. Irma Mayer trennte sich 1920 von ihm.
