Trauernde Justitia.

Description

Recto oben rechts in schwarzer Feder bezeichnet “no 22”. Plastisch durchmodellierte Darstellung der Figur der trauernden Justitia aus dem Grabmal Urbans VIII. von Bernini in St. Peter in Rom. Nachdem Bouchardon 1722 den 1. Rompreis errungen hatte, ging er 1723 nach Rom, wo er neun Jahre lang blieb und mehrere Marmorkopien nach der Antike und eine Reihe von Bildnisbüsten schuf. In diesem Zeitraum dürfte auch die vorliegende Zeichnung entstanden sein. – Oben und links mit dem Büttenrand, dort drei kleine, mit dünnem Japanpapier verstärkte Partien. Zwei winzige Einrisse am rechten Rand. Minimal fleckig in der rechten unteren Ecke, sonst tadellos.
