Description
1960 gründet Yvaral gemeinsam mit Künstlerkollegen, wie François Morellet, die Pariser Künstlergruppe GRAV (Groupe de Recherche d’Art Visual). Seine Werke, beeinflusst vor allem von der Kunst seines Vaters Victor Vasarely, sollen dem Betrachter eine neue visuelle Erfahrung durch optische Illusion und geometrische Farbfiguren näher bringen. Die vorliegende Komposition besitzt starke raumgreifende Wirkung dadurch, dass der Künstler die dunkleren Farbfelder im Randbereich stufenweise bis zum hellen gelbgrünen Quadrat der Bildmitte auflöst.
