Description

Anlässlich des 200. Geburtstags von Richard Wagner schuf der Bildhauer Stephan Balkenhol ein Denkmal für Leipzig, die Geburtsstadt des Komponisten. Wagner ist frei von Pathos und Monumentalität, sehr nahbar als junger Mann in blauem Gehrock und grauer Hose dargestellt. Einzig der schwarze, ihn überhöhende Schatten verweist auf seinen ambivalenten Charakter und die komplexe Rezeptionsgeschichte seines Werkes. Für das Projekt in Leipzig schuf Stephan Balkenhol 25 Exemplare des Denkmals in Miniatur. – Ausgezeichneter Zustand.
