Description
Auf der ehemaligen Unterlage verso mit dem Nachlassstempel und der Nummer “4/156/2”. 1912 kehrte Grosz wieder nach Berlin zurück, nachdem er in Dresden an der Kunstgewerbeschule studiert und laut eigenen Aussagen keine sinnvolle Ausbildung erhalten hatte. Mit spitzem Humor und kritischem Blick erfasst er in diesem Jahr eine Straßenszene, die er mit “Versöhnungsecke” betitelt. Im ersten Moment eine harmlos wirkende Ansammlung von Menschen in entspannter Atmosphäre. Im Hintergrund erkennt man jedoch eine Situation, die Unbehagen hervorruft: Ein Polizist, der die Personalien eines Mannes kontrolliert. – Leicht fleckig, sonst gut.
