Description
Die Arbeit entstand während Pechsteins ersten Aufenthalts im Fischerdorf Nidden an der Ostsee. “Der Wunsch nach der freien Natur führte ihn im Sommer 1909 in einen der abgelegensten Winkel Ostpreussens, in das Fischerdorf Nidden auf der Kurischen Nehrung.” (zit. Soika, Ostfildern 2011, S. 31). Die Künstlerkolonie Nidden stellte für ihn einen Ausweg aus der alltäglichen Hektik des Großstadtlebens dar. Die Ruhe und Schlichtheit im Alltag der Dorfbewohner hielt er oftmals in seinen Gemälden und Druckgraphiken fest. Fischfang und Fischerboote bilden ein immer wiederkehrendes Element in seinem Werk. – Im Passepartoutausschnitt leicht gebräunt, sonst in sehr guter Erhaltung. Rarissimum.
