Description
Auch nach seinem Neapelaufenthalt (1813-15) blieb die Stadt und ihre Umgebung eines der bevorzugten Motive des Künstlers. Diese Zeichnung bereitet ein im selben Jahre entstandenes Gemälde vor. Dort ergänzte er die Komposition um einige Details, etwa zusätzliche Staffage auf dem Weg vorn, doch in den wesentlichen Zügen folgt das Gemälde der Zeichnung genau (Vgl. Kat. der Galerie G. Meier, München, 1995, S. 14, Abb. 4 – Katalog liegt bei). – Sehr gut erhalten.
