1828 war Nerly in Rom angekommen, wo er die folgenden Jahre unter dem künstlerischen Einfluss Carl Friedrich von Rumohrs und Johann Christian Reinharts verbrachte. – Im alten Passepartoutausschnitt etwas gebräunt; die Ecken mit Knickspuren und Resten alter Montage verso.
