Description
Wie auf einer Bühne inszeniert der Künstler im Vordergrund der Komposition ein dramatisches Reitergefecht; einem Reiter gelingt die Flucht, er prescht geradewegs auf den Betrachter zu und bezieht ihn so in das Geschehen ein. Im Kontrast dazu entfaltet sich im Mittel- und Hintergrund eine idyllische Landschaft mit einer Wagenkolonne, die friedlich den Weg zu einer Burg entlangzieht.
