Description
Seit den 1990er Jahren ist die Landschaft zum bevorzugten Motiv des Künstlers geworden. “Orvieto” zeigt die exponierte Lage der Altstadt auf einem Felsplateau und deutet auch das Labyrinth aus unterirdischen Räumen und Gängen an, welches das Tuffgestein durchzieht. Eine besonders reizvolle Materialqualität entsteht durch den variablen Farbauftrag: Im unteren Bereich ist er deckend und von erdiger Schwere, oben von fast immaterieller Transparenz. – Verso an den Rändern umlaufend mit Montageresten, sonst sehr gut erhalten.
