Description
Nach seiner Entlassung von der Dresdner Akademie fand Otto Dix 1933 mit seiner Familie Zuflucht auf Schloss Randegg bei Singen, das seinem Schwager Dr. Hans Koch gehörte. Hier entstanden zahlreiche Landschaftsstudien. Das vorliegende Blatt, ein Blick über die vulkanischen Hügel des Hegau, diente als Grundlage für ein wenig später entstandenes Gemälde (Löffler 1935/10), dort jedoch fügte Dix der Komposition am rechten Bildrand einen zweiten, unbelaubten Baum hinzu. – Verso mit einer Skizze desselben Motivs. Mit einem Fleck am unteren Rand und Reißnagellöchlein in den Ecken, sonst gut erhalten.
