Das sommerliche Kolorit in all seinen Abstufungen von Grün, Blau- und Brauntönen sowie der lockere, teils fedrig leichte, dann wieder kraftvoll pastose Farbauftrag zeigt Voltz als einen der großen deutschen Landschafts- und Freiluftmaler der 2. Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts. Vergleichbar groß angelegte Landschaftsgemälde, ohne jegliche Figur- oder Tierstaffage, stellen eine äußerste Seltenheit im Oeuvre des Künstlers dar. – Insgesamt schön und farbfrisch erhalten.
