Großformatige, charakteristische Arbeit des holländischen Landschaftsmalers, der zum Kreis um Jacob van Ruisdael zählte. Bräunliches Kolorit und ein warmes Licht, das einzelne Details hier und da schlaglichtartig aufblitzen lässt, sind auf fast allen seiner Werke zu finden. – Verso parkettiert. Mit einzelnen Retuschen, v.a. entlang einer restaurierten Brettfuge in der unteren Hälfte, ansonsten schön erhalten.
