Description
Virtuos ausgeführte Komposition, die im Aufeinandertreffen von Idylle und majestätischer Natur das romantische Naturempfinden des Schweizer Künstlers besonders schön illustriert. Neben einer steilen Felswand steht eine kleine Hütte, der sich über eine Brücke ein Wanderer nähert; links rastet ein Hirte mit seinen Tieren, im Hintergrund liegt hinter Nebelschwaden das Hochgebirge. Dabei erschafft Salathé durch die Kombination von feinstem Federstrich und malerischer Lavierung einen lebendigen Eindruck der atmosphärischen Effekte. – Alt im Randbereich auf die Unterlage montiert. Im Passepartoutausschnitt leicht gebräunt, sonst sehr schön.
