Description
Die Zeichnung entstand während der Ausbildung Overbecks an der Wiener Akademie, die er von 1806 bis 1810 besuchte. Hier war besonders die plastisch naturalistische Modellierung des Körpers gefordert. Dieses Formideal sollten Overbeck und die nazarenischen Künstler in Rom zugunsten der klaren Linie des spitzen Bleistifts für immer aufgeben. – Insgesamt mit altersbedingten Gebrauchspuren; im Bereich der horizontalen Mittelfalte mehrere Stauchfalten; vereinzelt kleinere Fettfleckchen außerhalb der Darstellung.
