Description
In virtuosem Licht- und Schattenspiel eingefangene Landschaftskomposition voll atmosphärischer Dichte und geheimnisvoller Exotik. Auf Humboldts Anregung hin, brach Berg im Herbst 1849 zu einer Studienreise nach Mittel- und Südamerika auf, von der er im Sommer 1850 zurückkehrte. Die dort entstandenen Skizzen- und Studienblätter sind beeindruckende Zeugnisse einer zur Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts noch weitestgehend unerforschten und faszinierend-fremdartigen Vegetation. – Gleichmäßig schwach gebräunt, sonst sehr gut erhalten.
