Im großen Format entfaltet sich der Pinselstrich des Künstlers noch freier als in den kleinen Blumenaquarellen. Aus extremer Nahsicht dargestellt, lösen sich die Konturen und Binnenzeichnungen der Rosen auf, die Balance von Hell und Dunkel, warmen und kühlen Tönen, positiver und negativer Form wird zum eigentlichen Bildthema. – In sehr guter, farbfrischer Erhaltung.
