Description
Jörg Immendorff verarbeitet hier sein zentrales Thema: die eigene Rolle in Kunst und Geschichte. Der widersprüchliche Affe, weil weise und komisch zugleich, dient ihm dabei wie so oft als Parodie seiner selbst. In der Darstellung haben beide – Künstler und Affe – anstatt Zungen zu reden, Pinsel um sich auszudrücken. Immendorff greift verschiedene Symbole der deutschen Geschichte sowie seiner eigenen Biographie auf. Das Dritte Reich, die gegensätzlichen politischen Systeme im geteilten Deutschland und seine eigene politische Vergangenheit als Maoist. – Prächtiges Exemplar, sehr gut erhalten. Gerahmt.
