Das Thema der in Berlin lebenden koreanischen Künstlerin SEO sind Landschaften. Sie ist Meisterschülerin von Georg Baselitz und findet ihre Vorbilder in der traditionsreichen Landschaftsmalerei Asiens und Europas. SEOs Kompositionen sind Synthesen unterschiedlichster geographischer Regionen; Versatzstücke der Karibik werden mit Wiesen im Schwarzwald zu einer Komposition verschmolzen. Diese Synthesen feiern den menschlichen Lebensraum und fügen Landschaften, die von Zerstörung bedroht sind, zu märchenhaften Idyllen zusammen.
