Description
Verso mit dem hs. Vermerk auf die seit 1946 stattfindenden Künstlerseminare in “Skowhegan” im Bundesstaat Maine. In seinen Arbeiten bedient sich Baechler oft traditioneller kunsthistorischer Symbole, enthebt jedoch die Blumen, wie Rosen oder auch Nelken, ihres ursprünglichen ikonographischen Kontexts – wie hier, der Passion Christi – um sie in seinen eigenen kreativen Kontext zu integrieren. Die Auseinandersetzung mit seinem Werk wird damit zum Grenzgang zwischen Tradition und Moderne. – Teils etwas verblichen und knittrig, sonst sehr gut.
