Description
Idyllische Szenerie, die nicht durch die Vegetation, aber durch ihre Beleuchtung südländisch erscheint. Die untergehende Sonne taucht die abwechslungsreiche Landschaft in warmes Licht, rechts im Vordergrund rasten zwei Gestalten auf einem kleinen Hügel. Anregungen für diese Komposition empfing Warnberger wohl auf der Italienreise, die er nach seiner Ausbildung an der Münchener Akademie unternahm. – Mit Craquelé und leichtem Farbabrieb sowie einem horizontalen Riss in der Holzplatte und kleinen Retuschen.
