Description
Mit feinstem Pinsel minutiös ausgeführte Darstellung dieser Hirten aus der Umgebung, die in der Adventszeit nach Rom kamen und dort vor Marienbildern musizierten. Ihre Instrumente waren, wie hier gezeigt, der Dudelsack und die Schalmei (piffero). Pfannschmidt erlebte die malerischen Gestalten mit ihren Spitzhüten und weiten Mänteln während seines Italienaufenthaltes von 1844-46. – Verso mit Montageresten, sonst in ausgezeichneter Erhaltung.
