Airolo, eine kleine Gemeinde am St. Gotthard-Pass, war einer der ersten Wintersportorte im Tessin. Theodor Werner zeigt ihn als kleine Ansammlung bunter geometrischer Formen am unteren Bildrand, vor einem Hintergrund, der auch in der Abstraktion einen Eindruck von der grandiosen winterlichen Natur der Umgebung vermittelt. – Geringfügig angeschmutzt, sonst farbfrisch.
