Peiffer Watenphul wählte wiederholt lang gestreckte Breitformate oder schmale Hochformate für seine Werke, denn in ihnen konnte er die Objekte so anordnen, dass er das für ihn immanent Wesentliche zeigen konnte, statt sie einfach zu reproduzieren. So erhält jede Frucht hier ihren eigenen Platz und scheint auf der unbestimmten hellen Unterlage zu schweben. Jedes Stück Obst hat fast die gleiche Größe und damit die gleiche Wertigkeit. Peiffer Watenphul schrieb einmal, dass er sich im Aquarell um innere Größe bemühe. Die realistischen Dimensionen waren für ihn nicht ausschlaggebend. – In den Ecken auf die Unterlage aufgelegt. Sehr wenige Gebrauchspuren, sonst in sehr gutem und farbintensivem Zustand. Ausstellung: “Max Peiffer Watenphul. Ölbilder, Aquarelle, Farblithographien”.
