Description

Heckel traf Kirchner bei dessen Fronturlaub im Winter 1916/17. Dieser litt durch die Kriegserfahrung an starkem Selbstzweifel. Heckel vergleicht ihn hier mit der Romanfigur in Jean Pauls sechsbändigem Werk “Titan”. In der Figur von Roquairol zeigt Paul die extremen Konsequenzen, die durch eine von bodenloser Selbstreflexion genährten Egozentrik entstehen können. – Im Passepartoutausschnitt leicht gebräunt. Im breiten Rand etwas stockfleckig und knittrig. Ein kurzer Einriss am rechten Rand, sonst schön.
