Um 1910 findet Erbslöh in seinen Landschaften zu einer dunklen, weitgehend auf den Grün-Violett-Kontrast aufgebauten Farbigkeit. Ein Jahr später entdeckt er das Gebirgsmotiv als bestimmendes, formales Problem. Immer wieder malt er die Berge bei Brannenburg am Inn, darunter auch das Kranzhorn. Er zeigt verzackte Bergketten oder einzelne Berge als einsam aufragende Massive, die sich als breite Fläche oben gegen den Himmel sowie unten gegen die Ebene behaupten. Dabei fängt Erbslöh das Atmosphärische des Himmels ein: Das wechselnde Lichtspiel der Wolken und der Sonne wird zur bewegten Kulisse der aufsteigenden, dunklen Bergweite. – Kleine Schwundrissbildungen. In sehr gutem Originalzustand.
