Seal. Colour lithograph on wove. C. 100 : 59.5 cm (sheet). One of four printer’s proofs numbered in Roman numerals before the numbered edition of 150 impressions on wove and 100 impressions on packing paper. Signed and inscribed with the title on the right of the seal.

Die Robbe – Beuys nennt sie auch “Meerengel” – stellte Beuys auch in mehreren kleinformatigen Lithographien dar (vgl. Schellmann 425 – 30), die früheste, großformatige jedoch ist besonders ausdrucksvoll. Im unregelmäßigen Verlauf der Farbe und der verschwommenen Kontur vermittelt sie den Eindruck, als habe die Robbe sich auf dem Papier gewälzt. Sehr gut erhalten.
