Description
Das Blatt gehört wohl zu einer um 1830 entstandenen Folge und diente als Vorlage für eine Graphik. Opitz war Schüler Casanovas in Dresden. 1801 kam der Künstler nach Wien, wo er sein Talent für Darstellungen aus dem Volksleben ausbildete. Als Begleiter der Königin Katharina von Württemberg, der Schwester des Zaren Alexander I., ging er 1814 nach Paris und reiste dann über die Türkei nach Russland. Seit 1820 war Opitz in Leipzig ansässig, wo er als Professor an der Kunstakademie lehrte. Mit zwei diagonalen, geglätteten Knickfalten, im Randbereich mit leichten Handhabungsspuren, ansonsten von sehr schöner Farbigkeit.
