Das bekannte Pariser Stadtviertel, das Generationen von Künstlern inspirierte, regte auch vorliegende Arbeit an. Die lichte Farbgebung, eingebettet in die schwarzen Konturen und die lockere Komposition lassen eine verführerische Interpretation des Themas entstehen, bei der die Wahrzeichen von Montmartre – die Windräder des Moulin Rouge und die große Kuppel der Basilika Sacré-Coeur – im Hintergrund klar erkennbar sind.
