Verlegt von Leo Castelli Gallery, New York. Die Graphik entstand in Zusammenhang mit dem Gemälde “Modern painting with classical head” aus dem gleichen Jahr (Öl und Magna auf Leinwand, 172,5 : 208 cm, Sammlung Irving Blum). Im Mittelpunkt steht hier wie dort der dem Betrachter frontal zugewandte Kopf, der in seiner Ausformung an Skulpturen der 30er Jahre erinnert. Farbfrisch. Die äußeren Blattkanten minimal gebräunt. Kaum merklich berieben.
