Kupka was one of the first artists in France who dedicated themselves to abstraction. His work influenced the group “Abstraction-Création” as well as the avantgarde movement of the 20th century.
Description
Schon 1912 präsentierte Kupka im Pariser Salon d’Automne seine ersten abstrakten Werke. Konsequent führte er diese zu pur-sachlichen und geometrischen Bildfindungen weiter. Gemeinsam mit Hans Arp, Jean Hélion, Auguste Herbin, Georges Valmier und Georges Vantongerloo gründete er die Gruppe “Abstraction-Création” und gab ihr als Vorstandsmitglied zwischen 1931 und 1934 entscheidende Impulse. Die Bedeutung und Würdigung seines OEuvre für die künstlerische Avantgarde des 20. Jahrhunderts zeigte sich nicht zuletzt 1955 in der Präsentation seiner Werke auf der documenta I.
An den Rändern leicht auf die Unterlage fixiert. Mit minimalen Farbabplatzern im innersten roten Kreis. Sonst sehr schön und in gutem Zustand.
