Description
Variante des Lünettenentwurfs für König Ludwig II. von Bayern, der diese Darstellung neben der Gluck-, Weber- und Marschner-Lünette für seine Privatbibliothek in Aquarell gewünscht hatte (vgl. Schwinds Brief an Eduard Mörike vom 17.1.1867, in: “Moritz von Schwind: Briefe”, Hrsg. Otto Stoessle, Leipzig 1924. S. 442/443, Anm. 494). Das vorliegende Blatt zeigt Studien zum Mittelbild der Auber-Lünette: Der Fischer Massaniello singt seiner stummen Schwester Fenella, der Heldin der Oper, ein Schlummerlied. Während Fenella schon der endgültigen Gestalt des späteren Aquarells entspricht, erscheint die Pose des Bruders noch in verschiedenen Variationen. Mit wenigen kleinen Braunfleckchen, sonst gut erhalten.
