Study of an elder lady in prayer, executed in mostly broad lines softly modelled by rubbing.
Description
Diese Zeichnung aus dem Spätwerk des Meisters zeigt eine ältere Frau im Gebet. In wenigen, meist breiten Strichen und mit zarter Wischtechnik schafft Menzel ein eindrucksvolles Bild einer in sich gekehrten Frau. Ihren intensiven, ernsten Augen widmet er eine Einzelstudie. Am unteren und oberen Rand mit helleren Streifen, sonst von schöner Erhaltung.
Die Authentizität dieses Blattes wurde von Frau Marie Ursula Riemann-Reyher, Berlin, 2004 bestätigt.
