1843 ließ sich Hottenroth für mehrere Jahre in Hamburg nieder, von wo er zu Reisen nach England, Paris oder auch Schottland aufbrach. Die vorliegende Ansicht des imposanten Barockbaus des Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich dürfte auf eine dieser Reisen zurückgehen. Im Farbauftrag teils leicht verwischt; vereinzelte Randmängel; verso am Oberrand mit einem Klebestreifen im Passepartout befestigt.
