Hildebrandt was sent to Brasil and the United States by the Prussian King Wilhelm IV. in 1844/45. The journey inspired him to many drawings as well as to the present work.
Description
1844/45 reiste der Künstler im Auftrag König Wilhelms IV. nach Brasilien und in die Vereinigten Staaten. Dieser Aufenthalt inspirierte den Künstler auch zu vorliegendem Werk. Am Rand mit minimalen Bereibungen. Mit kleinen Retuschen und leichter Craquelébildung. Von sehr schönem Gesamteindruck. Provenienz: Süddeutscher Privatbesitz.
