Description

Claude Lorrain begann um 1635, seine eigenen Gemälde in Sepiafeder festzuhalten und schuf damit als einer der ersten Künstler einen illustrierten Katalog seiner Werke. Nach seinem Tod kam das 195 Seiten umfassende Werk in den Besitz des Herzogs von Devonshire, der es von Earlom stechen ließ. Sehr leicht stockfleckig, sonst in ausgezeichnetem Zustand.
