“Napeague”. Wooden construction representing a 12-paned sash window; 12 painted views, each c. 30 : 22 cm; acrylic on canvas on wood; plastic window latch. 1989. Overall size c.158 : 103 : 16.5 cm. Signed on the reverse of the frame, twice dated, inscribed with the title, size and details of materials. Each view individually annotated “A1” – “A4”, “B1” – “B4” and “C1” – “C4” on the verso.

Howard Kanowitz, der als Begründer des amerikanischen Photorealismus gilt und auf vielen internationalen Ausstellungen, einschließlich der Documenta, vertreten war, steht für die Welt der geheimen Dingmagie.
