A boy guiding a blind beggar to a man giving alms. (C. 1655). Brown pen and ink. C. 8.5 : 11 cm. With a written expertise by Werner Sumowski, who will include the drawing in Vol. 11 of his catalogue (“Drawings of the Rembrandt school”).
Description
Schöne, erzählerische Zeichnung des Rembrandt-Schülers, die stilistisch, aber auch im Motiv die große Nähe zum Lehrer erkennen lässt. Mit einer schriftlichen Expertise von Werner Sumowski, der das Werk in den 11. Band seines Verzeichnisses “Drawings of the Rembrandt School” aufnehmen wird. Sumowski datiert das Blatt in die Mitte der 50er Jahre und weist auf das Vorbild bei Rembrandt hin (Benesch IV, Nr. 750, fig. 898, Albertina HdG 1451). Verso mit alter hs. Zuschreibung “Rembrandt” sowie mit Paraphe. Mit einem braunen Fleck am oberen Rand. An der linken Kante verso mit kaum merklichen Spuren alter Montierung.
