Description
Wohl Kopie des 18. Jahrhunderts nach einem Gemälde eines niederländischen Caravaggisten (Honthorst?). Die von Valerius Maximus im Jahr 30 n. Chr. überlieferte Begebenheit, in der Pero ihren Vater durch ihre Muttermilch im Gefängnis vor dem Hungertod retten will, erfreute sich im 17. Jahrhundert großer Beliebtheit und wurde u.a. auch von Rubens dargestellt. Mit Craquelébildung
und vereinzelten kleinen Verlusten der Malschicht.
