Children playing games. Engraving on paper with a barely legible watermark. (C. 1490). C. 11 : 14 cm. Very good print, cut to the borderline. Together with its counterpart “The children’s bath” copies after lost originals of the Master of the Housebook. One of the earliest renderings of children playing games in the history of art.

Sehr schöner, klar zeichnender Druck, umlaufend bis auf die Einfassungslinie geschnitten. Zusammen mit dem Pendant “Das Kinderbad” entstanden als Kopien nach den verlorenen Originalen des Hausbuchmeisters. Das Blatt gehört zu den frühesten Darstellungen spielender Kinder in der Kunstgeschichte. Verso mit vereinzelten Fleckchen und Resten alter Montierung, sonst sehr gut erhalten.
