In den sechziger Jahren bildet sich im Werk Cavaels eine Gruppe heraus, in der die diffusen Farbräume einer klareren Kompositon mit schwebenden amorphen Gebilden weichen. Präzise Konturen, die leuchtende Farbflächen umreißen, treten an die Stelle der brüchig-nervösen Strichführung der fünfziger Jahre. Die vorliegende Arbeit ist mit ihrer raffinierten Balance zwischen räumlicher Wirkung und Verspannung in der Fläche ein besonders reizvolles Exemplar aus dieser Periode. Sehr gut erhalten.
