At the Walchensee. Complete series of 8 sheets. Etching and drypoint on laid paper with watermark “VAN GELDERN” (7). 1920. C. 19 : 24 cm (sheet c. 32 : 39 cm) (2) and c. 25 : 19 cm (sheet c. 39 : 32 cm) (6). Not from the numbered edition of 50, inscribed “B.E.”. Each signed on the lower right. O. cardboard portfolio with cover etching.
Published by Fritz Gurlitt, Berlin. With an introduction by the artist. Corinth found the area around the Walchensee to be especially beautiful. Particularly in his later years he took to studying the lake and its vicinity, capturing its changing atmosphere throughout the day and the seasons.

Erschienen im Verlag Fritz Gurlitt, Berlin. Mit einem Vorwort des Künstlers. Für Corinth war die Region um den Walchensee eine “bildschöne Gegend” (vgl. beiliegendes Vorwort). Besonders in seinen späten Jahren studierte er die Umgebung des Sees zu jeder Witterung sowie Tages- und Jahreszeit. Das Ergebnis dieser Studien zeigen die vorliegenden Blätter eindrucksvoll mit ihren atmosphärischen und stimmungsvollen Kompositionen. Sehr schöne, gratige Drucke. Bll. teilweise mit leichtem Lichtrand. Verso mit Spuren früherer Montage, recto leicht durchscheinend (7). Ansonsten von sehr schönem Gesamteindruck.
Provenienz: Nachlass der Tochter des Künstlers, USA.
