Description
Zusammen mit den früher entstandenen Werkserien “Hautkrankheiten” und “Leprakranke aus Island” bildet die Serie “Die operative Medizin” Spoerris “Anatomisches Kabinett”. 1993 entdeckt der Künstler den von N.H. Jacob gezeichneten ‘Chirurgischen Atlas’. Er zerschneidet die Lithographien, legt sie auf Karton auf und bereichert diese Tafeln mit assoziativen Gegenständen, die den Schmerz der chriurgischen Eingriffe einerseits unterstreichen und andererseits ironisch ästhetisieren.
