Descrizione
Excellent, strong and clear impression, which stands out from the group of small-format, early engravings in terms of graphic perfection. With the crescent moon and aureole, the image of the Virgin is based on the well-known medieval type which has its origin in the “Revelation of John” (Apocalypse XII, 1-2). Cut just inside the plate edge. – The top edge slightly uneven. Paper slightly dusty in the corners and with minute foxmarks. Slightly thinned in three small areas on the reverse. Otherwise in good condition considering its age. Very rare!
