Description
Entstanden 2002 nach einer Fotografie von 1985. Documenta11_ Editions, Edition Schellmann, München/New York, verso mit dem typographischen Etiektt. Im Sommer 1985 verbrachte Jaar mehrere Wochen in Serra Pelada, einer Goldmine im Amazonasgebiet. Diese Arbeit, Gold am Morgen, ist ein Porträt von sieben Bergarbeitern, deren Blick auf uns gerichtet ist. Es ist die Art und Weise, wie der Künstler einen Ort und seine Menschen für sich beansprucht, nicht als unser Eigenes, sondern als etwas, das das Denken, Handeln und die Würde der Identifikation verdient. – Funktionsfähig. Partiell schwach berieben, in guter Erhaltung.
