Pencil and chalk in colours on wove. 1889. 10.2 x 23.4 cm bis 19.8 x 32.3 cm. Most dated lower left and inscribed with locations. Includes some sheets with several motifs: The sphinx, pyramids at Gizeh, Saqquara, the Nile, Achmîm, Karnak, Thebes, Esne, El Kab, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Assuan, Gebel Silsila and Ramesseum.

Description

Tagebuchgleich dokumentiert Haubtmann seine fast zweimonatige Studienreise durch Ägypten. Seine Route führte ihn von Gizeh bei Kairo nilabwärts, vorbei an den Tempel- und Grabstätten der Pharaonen bis nach Assuan unterhalb des ersten Katarakts.
Enthalten teils mit mehreren Darstellungen u.a.: Sphinx, Pyramiden von Gizeh, Sakkara, Nil, Achmîm, Karnak, Theben, Esne, El Kab, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Assuan, Gebel Silsila und Ramesseum. – In sehr guter Erhaltung.
