Pen and ink in brown with watercolour on wove and brush and ink in black with grey wash on laid paper. 10.9 x 16.6 cm and 17.1 x 22 cm. Inscribed “F. Kobell” (1) by an unknown hand upper right. Each with a fine black ink margin.

Description

Malerische Landschaften, in stimmungsvolles Licht getaucht. Beim nächtlichen Übersetzen mit dem Kahn erzeugt Kobell ausdrucksvolle Lichteffekte ganz ohne die Verwendung von Deckweiß. – Vertikal verlaufende Quetschfalten im rechten Rand (1). Vereinzelt ganz schwache Braunfleckchen. Insgesamt in guter Erhaltung.
