Description
Üppig gedeckter Tisch (“banketje”) mit weißen Pfirsichen, Weintrauben, roten Johannisbeeren, Kirschen, Rotwein in einem kostbaren venezianischen Glas, über dessen Rand sich eine Zitronenzeste windet sowie einem Laib Brot. Solch dichte Kompositionen sind typisch für den Antwerpener Stilllebenmaler Jan Pauwel Gillemans. Durch das diffus über die Früchte huschende Licht, das vereinzelt Glanzlichter hervorbringt, werden die Farben vor dem dunklen Hintergrund delikat zur Wirkung gebracht.
