Description
Eduarda Emilia Maino, genannt Dadamaino, ist die einzige Frau im Kreis der Mailander Künstler um die Galerie Azimut. In den 1960er Jahren arbeitet sie in Schwarz und Weiß und befreit die Leinwand sowohl von der Fläche als auch von ihrer Begrenztheit, indem sie Löcher herausschneidet. Die Künstlerin bringt mit dem Titel der frühen Werkreihe zum Ausdruck, worum es ihr geht: um Volumen. In ihrer Konzeption ist die Leinwand weder Projektionsfläche noch auf ein Rechteck festgelegt. Obwohl Dadamainos Werk in seiner Kühnheit an die radikalen Lösungen von Lucio Fontana heranreicht, erfährt sie erst spät Würdigung und wird 1980 zum ersten Mal zur Biennale in Venedig eingeladen.
