Lithograph in colours on wove. (1952). C. 36 x 27 cm (sheet). Artist’s proof aside from the edition of 75 numbered copies. Signed lower right. The present work is one of eight sheets which Chagall contributed to the December issue of “Revue Verve” (no. 27/28), which was designed by several artists in 1952. It featured a title page by Braque, texts by Albert Camus, Gaston Bachelard, Jean-Paul Sartre, Jean Grenier, and Louis Guilloux and lithographs by Miró, Chagall, Matisse, Henri Laurens, André Masson, Alberto Giacometti and Fernand Léger. The Revue was published in an edition of 6,000 copies.

Dieses Blatt ist eines von acht, die Chagall zu der von mehreren Künstlern gestalteten Dezemberausgabe der “Revue Verve” (Nr. 27/28) 1952 beisteuerte. Mit einem Titelblatt von Braque, Texten von Albert Camus, Gaston Bachelard, Jean-Paul Sartre, Jean Grenier und Louis Guilloux, Lithographien von Miró, Chagall, Matisse, Henri Laurens, André Masson, Alberto Giacometti und Fernand Léger. Die Revue erschien in einer Auflage von 6.000 Exemplaren.
